However Pats fans, I got you covered with a spoof of the hit Netflix drama series "13 Reasons Why." I know present you with "13 Reasons Why The Patriots Are Back In The Super Bowl."
Up first, ESPN commentator and known Brady-hater, Max Kellerman.
During the summer of 2016, just prior to start of training camp and before Brady began his four-game "vacation" handed down by Commissioner Goodell, Kellerman began his lovely soliloquy of the demise of Tom Brady. The New York native and Ivy League graduate prefaced his initial rant by praising the Patriots' quarterback and everything he's accomplished, before getting down to the meet of the story. Without mincing any words, Kellerman went as far as saying "Brady will be a bum in short order." And the cliff is coming.
The Patriots made it back to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years where they faced the high-flying, potent offense of the Dirty Birdz. As we all know, the Patriots looked pitiful for the first three quarters of the game, and was highlighted by Tom Brady's first playoff pick six right into the waiting hands of Falcons defensive back, Robert Alford.
The picture of Brady getting up from the turf only to watch Alford running it back for the score to put Atlanta up 21-0 was demoralizing, but nonetheless Kellerman found solace in it. At that moment, his one word tweet said it all.
Despite the Brady and the Patriots completing the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history to win his fifth title and fourth MVP, the following day Kellerman still went on ESPN's First Take and said Brady can still fall off a cliff.Cliff— Max Kellerman (@maxkellerman) February 6, 2017
Kellerman's cliff talk didn't end with Brady continuing to perform at a high-level to begin the 2017 season. In October when Brady missed his first Wednesday practice for first time, "cliff talk" reared its ugly head again.
Patriots earn the No. 1 seed, a first-round by and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 13-3, but it still doesn't convince Kellerman. Before the Patriots first playoff game against the Tennessee Titans, Kellerman went on the air and proclaimed "Brady was the quarterback in the playoffs that had the most to prove."
Brady carved up the dismal Titans, completing 35 of 53 passes for 337 yards, while throwing three touchdowns for a quarterback rating of 102.5. But still not swaying Kellerman. Apparently the cliff is still coming.
One of these days, Max will be right. But by then Brady may have his sixth (or seventh) ring by that point.
