Can you imagine after everything David Price has been through this season, from his tingling fingers in cold temperatures to battling a "Fortnite" addiction, he gets the ball in game five for a chance to give the Red Sox their ninth championship and first in five years?
You seriously can't make this stuff up. But really with the way everything unfolded this season, it really shouldn't have come as a surprise when Alex Cora dropped that bombshell at the end of his game four press conference. It was like "what? Did he really just say what I thought he said?"
Sure enough you go to the Red Sox website and there he is, David Price's headshot, 16-7 record and 3.58 ERA facing off against Dodgers' Ace Clayton Kershaw. To quote Sox radio announcer Joe Castiglione "can you believe it?"
After everything David Price has been through during his career in Boston, he has a chance to be the pitcher for the deciding game of the World Series. It's a great decision by Cora. Not only will Price be pitching in the warm weather (temps are supposed to be in the upper 70s in southern California by game time), but Price has, arguably, been one top Sox pitchers in the post-season - aside from his first start against the Yankees. It also shows that there truly is something wrong with Chris Sale's shoulder.
But good for David Price. He's finally got that monkey off his back by proving he can pitch in the post-season!
Love it
