How Bill Belichick's Worst Loss Led to the Patriots Dynasty
NFL Now - NFL
Back in 2003 when Belichick released safety Lawyer Milloy and the Patriots were shut-out, 31-0, by Milloy and his new team the Buffalo Bills, everyone thought Belichick was crazy and lost the team. ESPN analyst Tom Jackson even went as far as uttering the four words "they hate their coach" in his reaction. It could have been no further from the truth.
Although the Patriots were crushed in week one by the Bills they did not lose the war. They rallied the troops and came back as a team even stronger winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Who really had the last laugh?
