Video of the Day: 19 Military Lessons That Made Me A Millionaire

19 Military Lessons That Made Me A Millionaire
Valuetainment

And why do I feel like the majority of these 19 points also fall in line with SIDs?

1. Managing Chaos

2. Mission Driven

3. Limited Resources
No facilities? No problem. No internet? Oh well here's a hotspot.

4. Multi-task
Doing in-game stats while writing the recap, doing P.A. and being a D.J.! Boom!

5.  Perform Under Pressure
Printing out eight pages of half-time stats with coaches standing over your shoulder waiting. Players, coaches and fans awaiting a scoring decision whether a player was ruled a hit or an error.

6. Manage Risk

7. Thick Skin
Coaches and opposing SIDs are insanely sarcastic. Additionally being able to respond to any question with instant sarcasm, is a sign of a healthy brain. Meaning all SIDs have healthy brains.

8. Build A Tribe
SIDs have a tremendous comradary with each other. We all have each others back and when one of us needs help, the other person will jump and help even if it is there only off day in four weeks.

9. Leadership
Teaching our student workers how to use Statcrew and write releases because we can't be at lacrosse,  baseball and softball at the same time.

10. Learning Other Cultures
We have numerous student-athletes, coaches and student workers from different countries let alone different backgrounds.

11. Adapt
We're always going with the flow. "What you can't do that interview at 9am but you can do it at noon? Ok, I guess we'll have a working lunch."

12. Survivability

13. Independence

14. Strategy

15. Health
Were' always on the go. We pretty much want to say "we don't have time to do this." But we have to remember to take five minutes out of our day to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

16. Preparation

17. Paranoia
Have you ever met an SID that wasn't paranoid? Paranoid we didn't submit all-conference nominations. Paranoid we'll miss the deadline for weekly awards. Paranoid our coaches are going to come to us asking why we ruled something one way. Paranoid the video won't work.

18. Work Ethic

19. Discipline
