Doris Burke Pays Tribute to Dick Kelley During BC-Duke Game in 2014
There was no one better than Dick Kelley. Always had a smile on his face and made sure the media got what they needed and wanted. Players, coaches and colleagues loved him. He was simply the best. DK was a staple at BC men's basketball games up until the day he lost his, nearly, three-year battled with ALS (2/13/14).
In a profession like sports information, where the limelight goes to the student-athletes, people knew DK because he MADE himself known to everyone. Dick Kelley was Boston College men's basketball. That's why it was so special when BC upset the, then undefeated, #1 ranked Syracuse Orange on February 19, 2014 - one day after DK's funeral and two days after his wake. It was emotional for everyone on that court both players and coaches.
Nice
