Going through tough times together is what brings people together. Well, yes you will remember all the good times you've had together, the thing that many people talk about is the tough times. Dealing with the difficult things is what people remember,  such as the weekend where we were hosting a soccer doubleheader, a volleyball tri-match and oh yeah the conference golf championship. How many calls was I fielding asking where this was, or how to do that.

This isn't really an incomplete quote, but more of a misunderstood quote. Once you eat the cake you no longer have it. If you're going a buy a cake, you might as well eat it. It's pretty useless if you don't eat it. It's like if you buy a new pair of shoes and don't wear them, then what's the point of having them. Or if you own a set of golf clubs, but don't play why did you buy them in the first place?

It's Actually The Longest Thing You'll Ever Do.
